The Best Beaches in Albania (Local's Guide to the Riviera)

Ksamil, Gjipe, Drymades, Jale and more a local guide to the best beaches on the Albanian Riviera and how to reach them.

The Albanian Riviera the Ionian coast between Vlorë and Sarandë has some of the clearest, most affordable beaches in the Mediterranean. Here are the ones our guests love most.

Touring the south? We can combine the best beaches with Butrint, the Blue Eye and the Riviera road. Ask us on WhatsApp.

Ksamil

The pearl of the Riviera: powder-white sand, shallow turquoise water and four little islands you can swim or wade to. Go early in July–August.

Gjipe Beach

A wild cove where a canyon meets the sea, between Dhërmi and Himarë. Reached by a 20-minute walk or by boat worth it for the seclusion.

Drymades & Dhërmi

Long stretches of golden sand and pebbles below the Llogara mountains lively beach bars at Dhërmi, calmer coves at Drymades.

Jale Beach

A small, sheltered bay known for some of the clearest water on the coast great for snorkelling.

Porto Palermo

Less a beach, more a stunning calm bay with Ali Pasha’s triangular castle on a peninsula. Quiet swimming and big views.

Mirror Beach & Grama Bay

For the adventurous: Mirror Beach near the Llogara descent, and remote Grama Bay on the Karaburun peninsula, reachable by boat with ancient inscriptions on the cliffs.
