Ksamil
The pearl of the Riviera: powder-white sand, shallow turquoise water and four little islands you can swim or wade to. Go early in July–August.
Gjipe Beach
A wild cove where a canyon meets the sea, between Dhërmi and Himarë. Reached by a 20-minute walk or by boat worth it for the seclusion.
Drymades & Dhërmi
Long stretches of golden sand and pebbles below the Llogara mountains lively beach bars at Dhërmi, calmer coves at Drymades.
Jale Beach
A small, sheltered bay known for some of the clearest water on the coast great for snorkelling.
Porto Palermo
Less a beach, more a stunning calm bay with Ali Pasha’s triangular castle on a peninsula. Quiet swimming and big views.
Mirror Beach & Grama Bay
For the adventurous: Mirror Beach near the Llogara descent, and remote Grama Bay on the Karaburun peninsula, reachable by boat with ancient inscriptions on the cliffs.
Practical tips
- Best months: June and September for warm sea and fewer crowds.
- Getting around: the coast is spread out a guided trip or transfer saves a lot of time.
- Bring: water shoes for pebble coves, and cash for beach bars.
