Theth & the Albanian Alps Day Tour

Itinéraire

1. 06:30
   Hotel pickup & departure

   We set off early from your hotel and drive north out of the city, settling in for the journey toward the highlands while your guide sets the scene for the day.

2. 08:30
   Coffee stop near Shkodër

   A short break for coffee beside Lake Shkodër, the largest lake in the Balkans, before the road begins its climb into the mountains.

3. 10:00
   The Thethi Pass (Qafa e Thorës)

   We wind up the dramatic mountain road to the pass at around 1,700 m and stop at the viewpoint for a first sweeping look over the Theth valley and its surrounding peaks.

4. 10:45
   Theth village, church & Lock-in Tower

   Explore Theth's famous 19th-century stone church, then visit the Kulla e Ngujimit (Lock-in Tower) as your guide explains the Kanun code, blood-feud history and traditional highland life.

5. 11:30
   Hike to Grunas Waterfall

   A scenic walk of about 45 minutes each way over some uneven ground, through forest and meadows to the 30-metre Grunas Waterfall. Fit groups can instead opt for the longer hike toward the Blue Eye of Theth (seasonal).

6. 13:30
   Traditional mountain lunch

   Settle in at a family-run guesthouse for a hearty farm-to-table lunch: local cheese, homemade bread, byrek, fresh trout and seasonal produce.

7. 15:00
   Free time by the river

   Relax, take photos and breathe the alpine air with a gentle stroll along the Theth river before we set off back.

8. 15:45
   Scenic drive back

   We begin the journey home over the pass, with photo stops as the afternoon light turns golden.

9. 19:00
   Evening drop-off

   Arrive back at your accommodation, tired and happy after a full day in the Alps.
